Re: American buying and using a holiday home in the UK

Re: USA to UK with a German Passport

I will be marrying my American fiancee this year and we're trying to work out the best way to move her from the USA to the UK. It seems the regular route is to just apply for a marriage visa and that is all for now. However, whilst she was born and resides in the USA she also has a German passport....

Many Thanks for your response. However, my question is something different. I am currently working in India for a company x. My cooling off period will be over by July 2018(as i returned to India in July 2017). My company has office across UK and is a 'A' rated sponsor. My company is ready to offer...

Re: UK Tourist Visa Refusal for Indonesian- Advice Sought

Yeah I understand, but nevertheless its a risk she will be refused again right, due to the past history and her lack of any home ties? My reason for wanting to leave the UK is not solely due to this Visa issue either, I planned to leave anyway, so this just pushes me to do it sooner, and move somew...

Re: Legal Challenge against Home Office Tier 2, Tier 1 etc.

Not sure if I would agree on the neutral cost to taxpayer aspect. Application fees for certain categories do seem to be yielding hefty profits to the UKVI https://www.freemovement.org.uk/another-massive-increase-immigration-nationality-application-fees-2017-18/ Nevertheless, it is the migrants choi...

Re: Legal Challenge against Home Office Tier 2, Tier 1 etc.

It's about two things to me - neutral cost to taxpayer - tick (if you beleive the UKVI) NHS costs, I've paid around 6 figures into the pot over my working life, and took very little out, I think it's fair to ask a migrant to chuck a bit more in since they've no record of paying, £100/150 a month is ...

Re: Legal Challenge against Home Office Tier 2, Tier 1 etc.

Visa processing costs are neutral to the British taxpayer, the reason they are so high is the cost of policing the T1/T2 fraudsters, cheats, tax-fiddlers and abusers we so so many of on here. IHS is a bargain, should be higher, here in Ireland I get to pay for health insurance visa PRSI ie as NI in ...

Hello, My husband and I would like to apply for family visas for my parents to come and live with us in order to help look after our children, but I'm not sure what kind of visa I would need to apply for. We would be financially responsible for them and they would live in our home. They are over 65...

The key the IO's use is 'genuine visitor' - and living here for 6 months isn't a genuine visit.
