Re: Permanent residence rejected due to military service abs

What exact benefits are you looking for after achieving UK PR despite as being EU national. I'm not sure about the author of this thread. In our case, my partner (EEA national) applied to support a future EEA 2 application for me either as married or unmarried partner (I am non EEA). In addition he...

Re: Permanent residence rejected due to military service abs

Hi tesb, Well done and congratulations on your PR card!! I'm glad you took the advice and stood your ground about the military service issue. Can you share you timeline for the PR application? My partner is also Greek and we sent his application for PR on 4th April and are as yet to receive the card...

Re: EEA2 Unmarried / EFM Called for interview . ! Obie ?

Hi chriskv1, Sorry that the interview was so unfair! They are trying to intimidate on purpose i guess. The important thins is to stay strong and not let the whole process affect you both. I hope that it all works out. I'm sure you will be fine and the card will come through!! All the best and keep u...

Re: EEA (PR)- Up to Six months wait?

Hi wegiwegi,

Did your EEA wife send her passport or National ID for the PR application? We're wondering why its taking a while since for EU citizens the application should be fairly quick. Was her 5 years of treaty rights spent working/studying or mixture of both?

Best,

Re: EEA (PR)- Up to Six months wait?

Hi confo, My partner also received the same e-mail with same wording. I thought this was a standard mail sent to everyone? My partner (EU National) sent his EEA-PR application on 4th April 2015. (Just a couple of days before the new biometric application came out. So he used the existing form (updat...

Re: Application for PR or PR card: form EEA (PR) - UpToDate

Hi all, I just noticed this thread. My partner (EU National) sent his EEA-PR application on 4th April 2015. (Just a couple of days before the new biometric application came out. So he used the existing form (updated Jan 2015) The timeline: Application sent: 4th April 2015 Application received: 8th A...

Re: EEA2 Unmarried / EFM Called for interview . ! Obie ?

Hi chriskv1, Thanks so much for your advice. Yes we have been gathering all documentation in any case for this very reason. We have been together over 3 years but by September we will have completed 2 years of joint tenancy, joint bank accounts. We have also travelled to each others' countries and m...

Re: EEA2 Unmarried / EFM Called for interview . ! Obie ?

Hi chriskv1, I've been following your posts-wishing you the best and success. Hope everything goes well for you and your partner. I'm sure after the interview it should just be a matter of confirming the relationship and issuing the card. Btw, were you able to give notice for marriage at all-based o...

Re: EEA(PR) - Student declaration

Hi Just_me My EU partner was in the same position. He sent his EEA PR application on 4th April (after months of document sorting!). Part of his 5 years treaty rights he spent 3 years as a student. Having read that wording, we assumed that a legal document was necessary to prove financial self-suffic...

Hi there, Your situation sounds similar to ours! Iam also a PhD student planning to apply on the extension scheme before I apply for the extended member of an EEA person. Except my partner is working full-time for 2 years now after his PhD 1. Will my COA come with a work permit or without a work per...

Hi Gin, Just trying to answer some of your questions below: 1.) if we do not apply till later on in the year and therefore do no get a decision until after my partners tier 5 visa has expired will he be able to continue work until a decision is made (when we have a COA)? From what you say it appears...

Re: EU family member (EEA2) - postgraduate funding eligibili

Hi culka11, Ahhh..that makes sense. Thanks for providing the wording. You certainly seem to meet the requirements. Yes, it is usually up to the universities I believe. Research councils award funding directly to universities (rarely directly to indivduals-unless they are post-doc fellowships). So it...

Re: EU family member (EEA2) - postgraduate funding eligibili

Hi culka11, Interesting question! I believe that if you qualify as a Home/EU student for fee purposes, it should work the same for Funding positions. If you're talking about PhD opportunities, would be best to check with the researcher/academics advertising the funding opportunity. Or check with the...

Re: Can non-Christians get married in Church of England

@chriskv1: Clearly from what everyone has said you can't avoid the paperwork involved whichever route you take. The vicar will also scrutinise the intent and has a legal obligation to inform the government agency to register the marriage Your choice of whether you want a church/hindu wedding is simp...

Re: Can non-Christians get married in Church of England

Hi Chriskv1-I think you need to approach the church in your local parish and speak to the pastor there. I think churches have a legal commitment to arrange weddings. However pastors do want to know a couple better before they can marry them. You may need to explain why you want a 'Christian wedding'...

Re: Applying for unmarried EEA2 with my case

Hi Shaulan. I think you still have a chance at a unmarried partner permit. It will depend on how strong your case is and the documentation to support that. I think in the past people have sent in applications with less than 2 years co-habitation. In your case, the relationship clearly existed before...

Hi I have not applied for an EEA 2 REsidence Card as yet. I'm currently on a tier 4 visa. But I've been issued a multiple entry Schengen visa on a couple of occasions. This usually depended on: -Having travel insurance that extended beyond the period of proposed travel (so having travel insurance th...

Re: How long after I can apply EEA4, If my wife holding EU &

From what I understand: If you are following the EEA route (i.e. you currently hold a EEA 2 card) you need to complete 5 years of residence in the UK while married to an EU spouse exercising treaty rights before applying for Permanent Residence EE4. This qualifying period -can be 5 years post marria...

Re: EEA route - any chance or not?

Hi Mike, I have to agree with the others. I'm not so hopeful that in your situation a EEA Resident Card Application would have much success. I too am waiting to live with my EEA partner long enough for us to apply via the unmarried route or as spouse (whichever works out). But it does require that y...

Hi there, First of, I want to say, what a great set of discussion threads and fantastic moderators. My issue might seem a bit premature, but seeing how complicated these issues can turn out, I am thinking ahead! I am a non EU (Indian National) in a relationship with an EU National. I have been here ...
