Considering you filled a application for unpaid leave you technically waived them of any wrongdoings.

I would recommend you drop this and accept it or risk burning bridges with your employer.

If she has a degree taught in English and not in an english major speaking country (see UKBA definition) then get it endorsed by UK NAIRC as a UK equivalent Bachelors or Masters degree.

My CoS application was made on 05 Jan 2014 and it was approved.
The UKBA website even published the statistics for Restricted CoS Allocation so your employer should be able to see on SMS if it has been approved.
