Re: Experiences using new UKVCAS for naturalisation/citizenship applications

I went to UKVCAS Croydon and I took pretty much every available document there. Even ones I'd already scanned, but also months of phone bills, council tax statements, water, electric, tenancy etc etc. All for residence proof. Many of which had been used for the previous ILR application, just for sa...

Re: Experiences using new UKVCAS for naturalisation/citizenship applications

I just see the list of documents that I previously self-uploaded and some additional files that were uploaded by sopra staff at the appointment. I can only see the names of files, not the content of the files. I am guessing that they contain my passport scans as they were scanned during my appointm...

Re: Experiences using new UKVCAS for naturalisation/citizenship applications

Is anyone else who has already had an appointment still able to access the UKVCAS site to upload documents?

Our appointment was on 20th Dec 2018, but we're still able to log in as of 4 Jan 2019. Just checking if its the same for everyone.

Re: British Citizenship - New Online Application

We made our application back at the beginning of December, uploaded scanned docs to the Sopra Steria UKVCAS site, and registered Biometrics in Croydon (with some additional docs they scanned there) on 20th December. It's now Jan 2 and the Sopra Steria / UKVCA Site is still open to log into, and let...

Re: Document Upload - UKVCAS

I found out about the 6MB limit only after scanning entire passports at 11MB ish - then had to use some size reducing software. Le sigh.

Re: British Citizenship - New Online Application

We went to the UKVCAS center in Croydon on 20th Dec to do Biometrics and scan docs. Should we have expected a case number by now (31st Dec)?

The UKVCAS website still seems to be available to login and upload additional documents. How long does it normally take to proceed to the next step?

Sickness benefits for wife with ILR (Spousal)

My wife was granted ILR last month as the spouse of a British Citizen (me). Her previous spousal visa stated 'no recourse to public funds' - but has that changed now she has ILR? She has become unwell and will be unable to work for some time so I would like to investigate if she could get access to ...

Re: Expired IELTS and its use to meet the B1 requirement

I received the same response from the Home office email address. It appears they have been receiving a lot of similar queries and have drafted a standard response and therefore appears to be reliable source. This is a very clear answer and does not leave with any doubt (regardless of previously sub...

I asked then where I could find something in writing IELTS (Academic and General Training) is on both the SELT list, and in Appendix O of the rules, therefore would be acceptable as evidence that an applicant who had scored: Listening – 4.0 Speaking – 4.0 has met the English language element of the...

Why not drop an email to KnowledgeOfLifePolicyQueries@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk, and take a copy of the response with you? I am going to do the same. I will. I've already written to them and await a response in writing. Furthermore I called the UKBA this morning and spoke to someone who said that if an...

If they are advising that expired tests are OK for settlement or citizenship, what about extensions of leave to remain as that is technically neither? My wife needs to apply for her extension next month and has a 2 and a half year old valid IELTS certificate. Does she need to apply for a new IELTS?...

Validity of IELTS. Confusing guidance on UKBA Website.

Hi, I need to renew my wife's leave to remain. She has already completed 2 years as the spouse of a British citizen. We now want to file for a 2 year extension. She has a IELTS certificate which was originally required for the first application, but the UKBA website suggests that it is only valid fo...
