Re: Citizenship applications from 2017 pending approval

Just got through and got the same reply as Anira. I wonder how long we have to wait :( It appears that whoever sits on INIS helpline depending on their personality and mood they provide almost the same word to word response to everyone. Perhaps, all those who call regularly are in the same boat. ;)

Re: Citizenship applications from 2017 pending approval

I applied citizenship 18 months ago but still waiting to be called for Oath, recently I heard minster of justice wife got passport and she took oath in last ceremony. Just wondering does she waited around 2,3 year time like mostly people are still waiting or she got special treatment ? Month ago I ...

Re: First Ceremony of 2019

Hello I rang tham 100 times and picked up my phone by some strange lady. Was answering same answer for my every question..😳.. “all i can say your application is processing “.. Hi all, I called today and the lady answering my phone sounds exactly the same person as many of you are reporting. Definit...

Re: Citizenship applications from 2017 pending approval

I rang today, the guy attending my phone gave me kind of a miny speech, explaining that I am at a well-advanced stage and told me that nothing is needed by the Department either from or of me anymore. Strangely enough rather than typical phone respondent at INIS who tend to have robotic tone and no...

Re: Citizenship applications from 2017 pending approval

Hi Littlerr, Wasn't your application already submitted to the Minister as per last week update? Did they keep the same story for you this week that it is submitted or avoided to say that but rather say completed/well-advanced etc.? Just asking as it is common for them to tell you a different story e...

Same story here as well, called today, I was told that the next Ceremony is in April, the exact date is not yet finalized though, but it will be very likely to be in April.

Re: Citizenship applications from 2017 pending approval

Initially, I was of the opinion it is pure laziness or incapability of bureaucrats. But now I strongly believe it is a well-engineered policy with a combination of laziness, randomness, and disguise to covertly keep the anti-immigrant policy intact and limit the numbers below certain numbers and obv...

Citizenship Application Processing Stages and Freedom of Information

Hi all, Just to update you guys on my experience with INIS and requesting freedom of information on my file. I hope this helps others to understand the INIS system and reduce the amount of speculations. I applied in September 2017 and still waiting to get a decision, I asked for a copy of my file un...

Re: delay in citizenship application - applied in 2016

Is any one received approval for the next ceremony especially those who were on advance stage. I don't understand the advance stage if some one still waiting for decision from the last 4 or 5 five months. I guess they only start sending approvals when it is near to the ceremony. So everybody ...

Re: Citizenship applications from 2017 pending approval

The same story for me as well, being prepared for submission and will be sent to Minister soon. I guess that big pile of files is still lying somewhere and not catching anybody's attention yet. I assume, in a month time or so they might spend a few hours or a day work to send the selected files to M...

Re: Citizenship applications from 2017 pending approval

Did anybody try to call citizenship phone line recently? I wonder what are the rumors/news regarding the next ceremony or has anybody got any status update where he/she move from one stage to the other? Knowing the historical patterns, not expecting from the department to start sending approvals bef...

Re: Travel options after naturalization is approved

i know, i mean the quoted scenario is not talking about naturalization, but since with naturalization approval i send the card to inis I think this scenario works as well. And i also think I can't apply for a re-entry visa while having card with me 'just in case', but I might check with the re-entr...

Re: Citizenship applications from 2017 pending approval

We had a response from a TD who contacted INIS on our behalf, they said in their reply it is not uncommon for applications to take 2 years or more.. ridiculous. Do you have a response from the department in writing? If so it can be easily used as a proof for judicial review against the department t...

Re: Options for getting united with EU citizen in ireland(Online_Love)

Are you sure you are talking online with Ms. Perfect from Poland and not with Mr. Scam from Nigeria? No disrespect to any country but I guess you know what I mean. If you want to live in Ireland with her, she must come to Ireland, work and exercise her EU treaty rights to sponsor you. If you just w...

Re: Citizenship applications from 2017 pending approval

anything to be worried about that i haven't explicitly received a 2nd stage letter? i applied in oct 2017 and the only proactive communication i received from inis was in april 2018 saying: "Your application is currently being processed in the normal way with a view to establishing whether you meet...

Re: Citizenship applications from 2017 pending approval

I agree with you, most of time the team answering phone calls simply speculate, I am not sure if it has ever an impact to shake up your application. Becasue people answering phone and processing application are totally different teams. But at the same time when you are suffering from anxiety and dep...

I have been told the exact same thing since August, file is complete, somebody just have to sign it off from here and send for approval. Got...

Re: delay in citizenship application - applied in 2016

Protests can be counterproductive sometimes but not always, but at least it will bring attention to everybody that there is something need to be corrected. Nowadays there is a big reform agenda within the Ministry of Justice & Equality (splitting them into two, perhaps this will help to improve). A...

Re: delay in citizenship application - applied in 2016

Nothing personal, all discussions here are efforts to try to shed more lights on issues face and express personal opinions. In my opinion; It is already selective exercise of discretion if someone else who applied after me and gets his/her application approved. As an applicant to a state department ...

Hey everyone, I just wanted to add my point of view to the thread. First of all, I do get your frustrations and understand why some of you are anxious waiting to get approved or not. It's certainly a very stressing process to go through. The only piece I'm struggling to understand is what are you p...

I assume all those who got approval after applying in 2017 must be busy attending the ceremony today ;)
