Re: ILR for wife - 5 yrs route - new or exisitng service

thanks, but so that Understand this, what is the premise for needing a valid Home country passport ? surely previously UK issued BRP should be sufficient for identify ? also, I was wondering if she changes name, would it not be difficult to prove cohabitation etc. as all such documents would be on t...

But, I notice her original Home country passport has now expired. will this be a problem ? if so how can I rectify this ? of course, re-newing with the home embassy is an option, but she likes to change her Maiden name into marriage name now. Will t...

Re: UK Visitor Visa: Frequency and period of stay

thanks a lot for the detailed answer. it makes sense..glad to know 'there is no hard rule' thought there might be based on answers from others. but what is thought provoking is that fact that, HO, compares the dates on the application and period of stay. always thought once they grant application, t...

Re: UK Visitor Visa: Frequency and period of stay

i dont think you are getting what I am after.

I am not talking abt a globe trotter. a person with a fixed home abroad with 'multiple entry visitor visa valid for 5 yrs'

so, when next can he enter UK again once they have spent 6 months on the UK already on the same visa and left ?

Re: UK Visitor Visa: Frequency and period of stay

are you sure of this ? coz, from a common sense point of view, I would have thought UK should only be concerned with whether somebody would leave UK or not right ? Whether they go somewhere else or to their home country - why should that matter? I get the point of somebody abusing the 'multiple-entr...

UK Visitor Visa: Frequency and period of stay

is there any limits of number of times you can visit UK on Visitor Visa.
For example, if you come in 1st January 2019 for 6 months and returned on the 1st of June 2019.

when is the next time you can visit if you have multiple-entry visa for 5 yrs ?

Re: ILR for wife - 5 yrs route - new or exisitng service

yes. applied within the UK, and the 30 month adds up between Nov 2017 and May 2015.

so, I believe she becomes eligible for ILR 28 days before the 5 year expiry of the original in-country spouse visa, which is April 2020?

and is the req. still Life in the UK , English + cohabitation docs?

Re: ILR for wife - 5 yrs route - new or exisitng service

thanks Zimba. the BRP got renewed, so no longer had the original one. However, with big of a digging in the archives, found some letters, and the original one was due to expire on the 28th Nov 2017. So going back 36 months, it must have been granted on the 28th May 2015. Given this the earliest date...
