Re: Naturalisation application process

I'm now reading information on UKBA saying that residence requirement is minimum 3 years. Not quite right, but what is true that there is an absolute requirement to have been in the UK exactly three years before UKBA receive your Naturalisation application. That 3-year test only applies because you...

Re: Travel to Schengen, without visa, for EEA-family members

You are Dutch. If you are married then your wife will be classed as a Family Member, and thus have the same Treaty Rights as you, and that includes the right to live and work in any other EEA country. Not just Schengen countries! But certainly including those countries. But documentation would be re...

There is no problem you claiming Child Benefit, even before your son is a British Citizen. After all he is not the claimant, is he!

Re: Can I apply for Child benefit for my SON?

Not sure of any link but the principle is very simple. Now that you have ILR you are entitled to claim any benefit that your circumstances dictate that you are entitled to. And any such claim will have no impact upon anything else, including any later application for Citizenship. You have a child an...

Re: Travel to Schengen, without visa, for EEA-family members

So you are British, so your partner is not here in the UK because of EU/EEA legislation.

Accordingly he will need a Schengen visa to enter Spain or any other Schengen area country.

Your National Insurance number is still valid, indeed it will be valid for the rest of your life!

But why have you posted into a topic that is merely five years old?

As soon as you got your ILR you became entitled to claim Child Benefit. The fact that you have delayed making the claim has cost you money!

Make the claim as soon as you can.

Re: Am I eligible to get benefit for my pregnancy?

I was wondering if you might be entitled to Statutory Maternity Pay, or failing that, to Maternity Allowance. But as you have paid no National Insurance contributions in the UK and MA is only paid if you are "employed or self-employed for at least 26 weeks in the 66 weeks before the week your baby i...

Wow, that was some delay! Before going on, can I ask, when does your wife's current visa expire? Also, why was the decision so delayed? Were you or your wife in any way to blame for the delay? Or did you supply all information requested on a timely basis? OK, please download :- https://www.gov.uk/go...

Re: Benefits : affecting ILR? Read before starting new topic

hallamking, none of that is a problem. With ILR you are entitled to claim whatever benefits your circumstances dictate you are entitled to. As regards "if someone not working in the qualifying period of 12 months will that effect his/her naturalisation application as they would not be paying any nat...

Re: what form for child registration MN1 or S2/S3

Hi, as you confirm you were born in Pakistan, your born-in-the-UK children have Pakistani nationality, so that gets entered on to the form MN!.

Suggest you download a copy of the form MN1 and have a good look at that.

Re: what form for child registration MN1 or S2/S3

A quick look on the internet seems to show that the born-in-the-UK children have not inherited Mongolian citizenship from their mother. What I have read indicates that in respect of children born outside Mongolia it is necessary for both parents to be Mongolian in order for their children to inherit...

Re: what form for child registration MN1 or S2/S3

My question is here shall i use form MN1 or S2, S3 (Stateless) as both kids not registered at any embassy of their parents homeland.
Not sure why you think that makes them stateless.

Please name the nationalities of the two parents of the born-in-the-UK children.

What would be the present nationality of the child for the purpose of section 1.9 on the MN1? Well not just for the form MN1 ! Simply what is their nationality? Needless to say I have no knowledge of the nationality laws of Malawi and Jamaica, but you need to check whether nationality of those coun...

Re: Travel to Schengen, without visa, for EEA-family members

treetop, your wife will need to convert her fianceé visa into a spouse visa, in the UK, before being able to successfully apply for a Schengen visa. That is, armed with just a 6-month fianceé visa, they will not issue a Schengen visa to her. And yes she will need a Schengen visa in order to enter "S...
