Child Benefit and Child Tax Credit enquiry

Hi All,

As an ILR holder am I eligible to apply for Child Benefit and Child Tax Credit?

Will this affect my naturalisation in any degree or cause any other immigration issues? Thanks.

Re: MN1 referee question (urgent)

Thanks a lot! Submitted the application last week, hopefully, all will be good. The NCS officer, however, advised that a pharmacist reference doesn't really tick the box as the person should be engaged professionally with child and prescribing medicines is not a professional activity with child. But...

Re: MN1 referee question (urgent)

Thanks a lot! Another question please: I will apply through NCS. Do I need to include the payment slip too or send it separately? My understanding is that I need to include the payment slip but want to clarify. Also, are the supporting documents below correct (child will be registered under section ...

MN1 referee question (urgent)

Hi All, I am going to apply for my daughter's (under 6) naturalization next week and need an urgent help please. We have 2 referees. Both are pharmacists, over 25 and British citizens. Obviously, both know our child personally since birth and one of them was also prescribing medicines to her. Questi...

Re: BRP: Place of birth

Hi All, Got a reply from them and, yes, it is ok as there is a space limit of 16 characters (including spaces) on BRP. They also advised that the Place of Birth field on the BRP should reflect the place of birth in the applicant's passport or other documentation if not shown in a passport. Might be ...

BRP and MN1

Hi All, My country name is not written correctly on my BRP so I sent a request to HO to review it. I scheduled an appointment with NCS for my daughter MN. Do you think I should cancel my daughter's appointment whilst HO are reviewing my BRP or I can still apply? I am bit worried that I will apply an...

Damaged passport

Hi All, I am writing on behalf of my friend who is going to apply for naturalization next month. He has got a new passport a week or so ago but his child somehow managed to tear it apart. He went to his embassy and applied for a new one and gave the damaged one to them. He said the old one he has is...

BRP: Place of birth

Hi All, I received my BRP last week. In all my previous BRPs the "Place of birth" was my birth city, in this one they written my country instead and it looks like the space has a limitation as only first 16 characters of my country are displayed, the last 3 are missing. I emailed BRP team last week ...

1st referee for MN1

Hi All, My child is 4.5 years old and I am applying for her naturalization. I have 3 questions regarding referee 1: 1. It says in the guidance that the 1st referee should know the child in professional capacity. I, however, don't know anyone who knows her in professional capacity for 3 years - she j...

Hi there,
Letter doesn't matter and its not a requirement either, as you have to mention your absence in accordance with entry and exit stamps on your passport.
Regards,
Thanks a lot! I will pass this info to my friend!

Absence letter

Hi All,

This one is for my mate (too early for me - haha) - for naturalization, do we require to produce an absence letter from present or ex employer to confirm the absences from the UK? Or HO dont care about that kind of letters and will look to passport stamps only? Thanks.

ILR and Guernsey

Hi All, Me again with tricky questions. Ive got a job offer from a company that is registered in Guernsey and has a head office there. But I will not work in Guernsey, only in UK, from home mostly. I might travel to Guernsey from time to time for a day or two for business trip. Am I allowed to do th...

MN1 and old passport

Hi All, My current non-UK passport still has 1 year to expire, however, all visa pages are full so I asked my embassy 3-4 months ago to issue me a new passport. The issuing process takes a few months as they issue the new passport in my country and then send it to the UK so the issue date on the new...

Report changes with ILR

Hi All, I understand we need to report certain changes that affect BRP card data, for example, change of name or sex. What about other changes, for example: 1. Change of address 2. Change of passport (a new passport from the same country) 3. Change of employer Do we need to update Home Office if we ...
