Re: Tier 2 to ILR

You should only worry about this in 2027.
There are ways to make up some residence time to reach 28 days within the 5 years: How to apply early and benefit from the date of the ILR decision ?

Re: Time in UK (Affected due to COVID)

It starts from the BRP issue date for ILR. During COVID many workers were allowed to start work early for their prospective employers while waiting for a work visa but that did NOT change the ILR requirements. The fact that you started without a visa while waiting for the visa does not bring your el...

Re: ILR Permitted Leaves / Employer Letter

Hi, I have one quick query. My Tier 2 General visa was issue in India and the Vignette sticker has date of 13 May 2019 and I entered UK on 16 May 2019. Do I need to include this as absences from the UK count for ILR and letter from my employer? Kindly let me know. I am currently in process of getti...

Re: How can ILR holder get fast-tracked for eVisa?

Proving ILR is indefinite makes no sense. ILR means indefinite leave to remain and embassy workers of other countries very likely know this The eVisa system is NOT open to all yet and it is estimated to be rolled out fully this summer. So there is no fast or slow way to get an account yet. At the en...

Ok thanks zimba.

I was sick during the end time of period, hence delayed. Is there any template of medical reason to show the absence?

Thanks
There is no template. As I said, UKVI rarely exercises discretion

Re: ILR for Skilled worker dependent spouse and children

Thank you Zimba! One more doubt. I got ILR 02-Oct-2023. When I will be eligible to apply UK Passport or I should apply evisa due to BRP expire on 31-DEC-2024 ? ILR does not have an expiry. A British passport is a travel document that only British citizens can get. As advised, you must apply to natu...

Re: Long Residence - Contradicting rules and guidance wording

It will be the latter. You can no longer rely on the historic 10-year qualifying period: Paragraph CR 6.1. of Appendix Continuous Residence sets out that the continuous residence periods will be calculated by counting back from the relevant date. This means that an applicant cannot rely on a histori...

Re: Long Residence - Contradicting rules and guidance wording

There are 3 bullet points you need to know, which are covered below. It is very clear and self-explanatory. If your 10 years completed after 11 April 2024, then the 548 limit no longer applies: These transitional arrangements preserve the position that continuous residence will be broken if an appli...
