Now you should expect a positive response in 4-6 weeks.

Have you included self addressed envelope. i didn't do it and i am worried about looming postal strike. i haven't received the reference number yet, once i receive it i will probably ask for courier pickup.

but this condition does not apply for extention cases. so anyone who has applied for tier 1 before the rule change can extend their visa on old rules.

Thanks alot tipu, I will fax them once i get my reference number. I presume that they provide address to pickup as well because the one we use for posting is just a PO Box number. I didn't attach self addressed envelope and i am feeling bad about atleast if i have done that for special delivery it is handled slightly better than other post. Homeoffice uses normal recorded delivery, but imagine if it gets stuck at the bottom of the pile and it takes weeks to clear that because...

Can anyone tell me if it is good idea to interfere with it and ask them for a courier pickup. does anyone have previous experience of doing that.

Please let me know i am confused of doing that but i have also seen the pictures of agency worker sorting post on the footpath.

Yes "gotcha" is right. i have checked royal mail website at 9 AM in the morning and it confirmed that my application is delivered and then i checked the available credit on my credit card and saw they have taken the money. It does take 3 working days to appear as a transaction but your credit is red...
