Re: Future problems

I re read your post and I see a future potential problem. Once you have your Schengen visa , you then need to leave the country together Yes our intention is to travel from Greece together, which will hopefully make things much simpler. Do you mean the Greek embassy or are you trying somewhere else now? The Greek Embassy, The visa officer of the Greek embassy has said that her passport will be sent to Belgium for the visa to be attached!! this seems odd as I thought it would have been attached to her passport at the Greek Emb in Ja...

but to request some authorisation in the UK? Wtf mcovet, you are right, and having just got off the phone from the fco, all they could suggest is my wife go to the British consulate in Jakarta to seek advise as they may have already come across a similar situation. Shengen Visa for my Non EU Wife

The purpose of the following post is that it might help others considering the EU route, and to get information from those who have done it. Mine is an ongoing process so I will add to this as I get results good or bad. This is a learning process for me and everyday I get new info which sometimes co...

Thank you for that advice, I have been trying to find the requirements that germany ask for, found lots on shengen visa, and for Non EU workers, but have been unable to find a link on what they require to issue a visa for a non eu spouse.

If you have a link that would help it would be great.

Thanks Directive/2004/38/EC, that is my plan, now just checking each country and see what the requirements are, as some such as Ireland say a proof of address must be supplied, and a letter from the landlord before they will issue a visa for Non EU Spouse. Greece want flight details and hotel bookin...

My mistake

Sorry, I did not mean exercising treaty rights from Turkey as they are not a member of the EU, what I meant was if my wife and I fly from Indonesia to Turkey, and we want to cross at Bulgaria or Greece, can we do so?

Clarification

Could someone clarify this for me please: http://eumovement.wordpress.com/2010/08/04/no-visa-but-still-want-to-travel/ So if I were to travel with my wife (I am a British Citizen) after exercising my treaty rights in another Member state) to let's say Turkey, and cross the Land Border into either Gr...

Interesting

So if I were to go to Ireland or Hungary, exercise my treaty rights, as either self employed or self sufficient, does anyone know how long it takes either of these two country's to issue the family permit for my non EU partner? so that she may then join me there.

kikijon1, you mention a family visit visa. In order for the application to succeed you'll need to prove that your spouse intends to return to his home country...which may be difficult due to the previous Spouse settlement visa application. The last settlement application was as an unmarried partner,...

As Casa said she will need to show (prove) that she will not need to claim additional benefits. My partner and I applied for a settlement visa last May, at the time I was claiming working tax and child tax credits as my job was not full time as I have our daughter with me, it was refused on the grou...

Thanks, I guess that could be another option, I think for now we will just go ahead with the family visit, and take legal advice in case they do refuse, as UKBA make certain rules about applying for one type of visa and then put obstacles in the way, I do understand why they do this as a lot of peop...

We will have to go on the strong family ties rather than material ties, after all houses can be bought and sold, bank accounts opened and closed, jobs changed, but family ties..
