as per rules you are not suppose to keep maintenance fund intact once you have applied. but it is a good idea to leave it as it is because, god forbid, for some reason your application is considered invalid or rejected and you decide to reapply you will need to show maintenance fund for previous 3 m...

that is a tricky bit. as per ukba you are self employed and not employed see part 6A http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/policyandlaw/immigrationlaw/immigrationrules/introduction/ "Under Part 6A of these Rules, "Self-Employed" means an applicant is registered as self-employed with HM Revenue & Customs...

yes 1 week will be fine.
as long as your application is made and reaches(in case of courier) to home office before your current leave expires you will be fine.

if your company has declared that dividend in march 2013 that is income for march 2013. ukba does not distribute it over the 12 moth or any other period. as march 2013 will fall in your earning period it will be considered for your extension.

yes Bankers draft will be much cheaper around 20 quid and less tedious as well as it will be one cheque unlike 11 postal orders in your case!
generally you will need to apply for a draft day before at the bank.

as per the rules it is not necessary that you should be working for all the 12 months of your earnings period. if you can make up the necessary points even in 1 month you will get your visa as long as you can prove it through valid documentations.
