Passport application form

A couple of queries regarding passport application form: 1) What to put for the place of issue of Naturalisation certificate? - Home Office London or the place where I had the ceremony. 2) Is it okay to say I don't know the details of grandparents such as date of marriage and the exact date of birth...

Re: BRP - return or hold?

That's a good technical question. Lawyers have a nice little earner of certifying photocopies they make as true copies. However, that rather misses the electronic security features of BRPs. However, in your case, the old cancelled Indian passports with ILR affixed serve the rôle of the certified co...

Re: BRP - return or hold?

You are required by law to return BRP within 5 days from date of ceremony. Fine upto 1000/ Keep certified copies of BRP and return. Yes, I know about the 5 day rule. However, had seen discussions along the lines that you could keep if required for renewing childs passport at a later date. By the wa...

Re: 2x2 photographs

How have members on this forum gone about getting a 2in x 2in pictures done for the purpose of surrendering Indian passport (and I'm assuming for OCI as well)? Traditional 'passport size' in the UK is different, so I'm wondering what is a convenient way of getting a 2in x 2in size done. Thank you f...

OCI for child and parents - Help

We need to apply OCI for 2 parents and a newborn child. I am currently waiting for all 3 British passports. My current plan - to apply for the surrender certificate for both parents and to apply for all 3 OCI together. However, if we surrender Indian passport will our child get OCI as we won't be In...

BRP - return or hold?

I know this has been asked few times but would like some advice. It is about documents we would need when renewing kids British passports. 2015 - Child 1 - got british passport as born in UK and based on parents ILR stamp 2018 - Child 2 - currently applying for british passport as born in UK and bas...

Re: Return of BRP within 5 days of ceremony

Notify them that your ILR BRP actually confers British citizenship for your UK born child and your child requires it for child's lifetime. Note that a British passport does not confer British citizenship. Would the ILR sticker in an expired passport be enough to prove that parent was settled at the...

Do you need email confirmation?
In my case I booked a private ceremony.
I didn't get any written confirmation. Should I be asking for one?

Re: Ceremony queries

Fair enough. A private ceremony costs more, most in excess of £100. Group ceremony is an awesome experience though. Thanks. Another dilemma here.. Do you know how long it takes for a first child passport to arrive from the application date? I need to do these things and am confused which order I sh...

Re: Ceremony queries

It takes about an hour, depends how many people attend. Yes you sit during the process. You only stand at certain part, like singing the anthem etc. Private ceremony is impersonal and last a few minutes. You do realise that you have 90 days to attend the ceremony, so not sure about your reference t...

Change of employment

Do I need to inform HO of my change of employment?

My timeline:
Applied for Naturalisation - 08.05.18 (NCS)
Biometrics enrolled - 09.06.18

Changed employment - 18.06.18

If I need to, how can I inform HO/caseworker of this change?

Many thanks in advance for your advice.

Will I get back BRP card back as well ? If yes then I'll be happy to go to nearest council and verify them. I'll try Monday and see If I can get one.... Passports, English language proof etc.
the only original NCS would send is LIUK.

I think its worth if you get an appointment in a council within the hour's commute.

Acknowledgement email for only one partner

I and my wife applied for naturalisation through NCS (paper form) on 08.05.18. The NCS lady said she was going to send it jointly in one envelope as a joint application. I got an acknowledgment email today with a case ID. :) But my wife didn't receive the acknowledgment email. :( Should we be concer...
