Re: residential qualifying period for naturalisation

Page 8, 2nd para of the guide clearly states : https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/583815/AN_Guide_-_January_2017.pdf You must also check that you were physically present in the UK 5 years (3 years if you are married to or in civil partnership with a British ci...

Re: British Citizenship - New Online Application

I guess a sticky thread which states the different options to apply for [ A) Naturalisation alone & B) Naturalisation + Passport] would be extremely helpful.

Something like a Citizenship application process for Dummies guide.

Re: British Citizenship - New Online Application

From reading the previous pages I understand the options to apply for Naturalisation are either: A) Online application and post documents OR B) Online application plus NDRS (appointment within 10 days of online application submission) Question: 1) Is the above understanding correct? 2) Is JCAP (pape...

Currently, I have ILR stamped on an expired passport. I have been using this ILR endorsed passport plus curre...

NTL premium service appointment

I tried to book a premium service appointment for NTL.
However, the system says there are no available appointments with the next 45 business days in any of the centres.

Is that typical or a possible error in the system?

Re: English language evidence for Naturalisation (ILR since 2012) - Doubts

No it would not. It must be a UK Degree to qualify for exemption. Hmm. I am not sure whether it's classed as a UK degree as it's not a taught course. Its more clinical teaching and taking an exam at the end of 3 years of work placements. The degree I am referring to is MRCP. General Medical Council...

Re: English language evidence for Naturalisation (ILR since 2012) - Doubts

As CR001 rightly pointed out, just go for the B1 test. It gives you much more peace of mind. Some caseworkers can be lazy and funny. The test is £50 I think and you'll be done in 15 minutes. As CR001 has corrected its £150/-. It's still better as I have to spend time obtaining a transcript from the...

Re: English language evidence for Naturalisation (ILR since 2012) - Doubts

Many thanks for the reply. Looking at both options it seems taking English test wud be quicker and cost-effective. By the way, do you think the following makes me exempt from Naric UKVI? - Diploma from a UK university (2-year part-time course) and also - Membership of a Royal College which is obtain...

Re: Visa for baby - advice please..

1. No need to submit original passport with OCI application. 2. No time lines for submitting the passport once OCI is ready but the sooner the better. It normally takes 30 - 40 days for OCI from the date of application to arriving at HCI. You can do it once you are back. thanks...will apply for oci...

You can use the fast track for child British passport, it takes roughly one week. 1.
