Re: Citizenship delays: FOI and an application for an Order for Mandamus via the High Courts

It seems like people are only receiving these timelines if they have passed the two year waiting mark and have threaten a JR via a solicitor. They are not sending timelines with regular followups via email. The first warning letter my solicitor sent, we received a generic copy paste response - with ...

Re: Citizenship delays: FOI and an application for an Order for Mandamus via the High Courts

If you sent in the application via email you'll get it by email. If you posted the application via mail and want to get the results via email, just email them and tell them. Can any one tell if the response to FOI is received electronically on email or via the normal post ? Thanks in advance !!

Re: Affidavits for approved applications and next ceremony

How long ago did you email them? Did anyone else make a mistake on the digital photo? In the digital version of my approval letter it clearly stated that I can submit the photo in JPEG and PNG. So I went ahead and paid and uploaded the photo in PNG (also I'm smiling in the photo). The paper version ...

Re: Citizenship delays: FOI and an application for an Order for Mandamus via the High Courts

I applied in the same time frame, and with my FOI there was one garda vetting document done. Some people in this forum have had a few garda vetting done (1 per year). It could very well be that they haven't done the garda vetting for you yet. Otherwise it would show. The only other possible explanat...

Re: First time passport application

Does the copy of Public Service Card need to be verified/notarized/certified? 1. Affidavit - if you used an affidavit for your naturalisation application, you should be able to do the same. I think you are required to explain why you are not able to get an original birth certificate. 4. Proof of add...

Re: First time passport application

Has anyone sent in a certified copy of their passport (and faced no issues) instead of sending their actual passport with their application?

And how do you get it officially certified - is that getting it signed/stamped by a notary or solicitor?

Re: Affidavits for approved applications and next ceremony

That's for people with passports that require a visa on entry. Do you have to apply for it? and if you hold a passport that doesn't require a visa to enter Ireland is it necessary? I'm assuming that they don't return the GNIB/IRP card once we send it in? If you need to travel shortly thereafter, not...

Re: Citizenship Applications From 2020 Pending Approval

The department is prioritizing applicants who are at their 2+ year mark. When applications reach 2 years, you can take the department to court (which is called a Judicial Review). this is very costly for the department when they lose, so they'll want to clear this backlog. i believe their target to ...

Re: Citizenship applications from 2017 pending approval

You can't discuss it publicly on the threads, but you can send people direct messages and ask them on these boards. The only trick is that you must have made at least 30 posts (quality posts, not just writing anything at random), and the person you're sending the message to must have the same status...

Re: Citizenship delays: FOI and an application for an Order for Mandamus via the High Courts

Do you know this to be absolutely true and routine in the processing stage? This would take a lot of manpower and $. Surely, it's in circumstances where they suspect fraud (and/or what seems to be discriminating based on nationality) They absolutely can request information from another countries and...

Re: Citizenship delays: FOI and an application for an Order for Mandamus via the High Courts

FOIs are routine. They have 24k applications. Many people are requesting it. I highly doubt they are that organised to take personal action on your application. An FOI is a right. It's not "annoying" the department, it's your right. Some people on these threads have found mistakes and corrected them...

Re: Citizenship delays: FOI and an application for an Order for Mandamus via the High Courts

They have a lot of FOIs to deal with. They quote everyone with a date, and then miss the date. It's routine. Just follow up by email, so your FOI doesn't fall through the cracks. Expect to wait another 4 weeks to get it. Last month I made a request FOI on citizenship file and they wrote in their ack...

Re: Citizenship delays: FOI and an application for an Order for Mandamus via the High Courts

How are you so certain? do you have proof to back this up? And how is the new streamlined process making it easier? Do they actually check with foreign authorities? And if so, what are they checking? Are you100% sure this happens? or is this a myth.... I haven't seen anything in the FOIs on this nor...
