I wouldn't bother tbh, unless its a pay cut, or major change in working hours or job role/description.

However, your employer should obviously start paying you the experienced rate from the new start date on your COS - even if your extension application is in progress.

It is safer if your employer starts paying you the experienced rate before applying for the extension application

If yes, and you extend your T2 in Nov 2015, and it got approved -your new visa expiry date would be Nov 2018. Not March 2019.
