there are plenty free appointments available to main centers. for example in London its croydon. may be small centers have few of them which might have been taken by others. you can book free appointment at other centers as well. does not have to be cardiff one. but unfortunately you have to submit the biometric which is the core requirement for your application to be consider. Rarely do they act retrospectively though. Yes they did, when the con-lib govt changed the criteria for eligibility for EEA-PR back in 2014 retroactively. From 1 April (no jokes) the settled status _should_ be linked to your NINO. So an employer should be able to see if you have SS or not. This is the plan.

Are you positive about that? On a Facebook forum I've read the EEA route will close on the 29 March.

A beta trial of the EU settled status scheme will open later on this month. Why not wait for it, rather than a lengthy PR application?
