Working Place Pension

Hi, Soon my partner will be joining me in the U.K on a fiancee visa. Once married and they get the FLR Visa, they will begin to work. Are they allowed to pay into a work Place Pension, where both they and employer pay in. Is that classed as access to public funds? Or will they have to wait for 5 yea...

FLR(M) advice

After a successful appeal, my partner will be joining me within the next few weeks on a Fiancee Visa. I understand this visa is only for 6 months so that we can get married & then proceed to the FLR(M). I have 3 questions; Firstly, how soon after the marriage, can we apply for the FLR(M) Visa? Can w...

Re: Council Tax Question

Ive tried quite a few benefit calculators but they don't include me to enter somebody that is under immigration rules / non uk citizen. The calculators are basic. My partner will be joining me within next few weeks, I will just notify the authorities and let them calculate it out. Thanks for the adv...

Re: Council Tax Question

Hi Amber, thanks for the response. Yes I'm currently in receipt of PIP. I understand that I have to notify the Council Office & DWP, but surely I would be exempt from paying Council Tax as my partner cannot work (for first 6 months) or access public funds? Also, would it affect my ESA payment as my ...

Re: Council Tax Question

Thanks again JB007, my partner wishes to work, but i will make sure there is no mistake when we inform the DWP that my partner wont be added to my ESA claim or council tax reduction.

The link you provided is most helpful, thanks again

Re: Council Tax Question

Apologies, I meant the IHS will have to paid when we apply for the 2.5yr FLR visa after getting married. The visa my partner has just been granted is only for 6 months allowing us to get married, so we can then apply for the FLR and then pay the IHS

Re: Council Tax Question

Thanks JB007 for the reply. I mis-read the council tax guide. I read it as ' a spouse, partner 'OR A' student ' but the guide says spouse or partner 'OF A' student. As I said, i currently don't pay ANY council tax because I'm in receipt of ESA. My council tax is £1275. I get a 25% discount of £318 a...

Council Tax Question

My spouse will be joining me in the next few weeks after winning an appeal. My question is regarding Council Tax. As I claim ESA benefit plus I receive the 25% discount for single person, I do not currently pay Council Tax. I recently called my local council office to inquire about the change. I was...

Re: Submitting a passport

Hi Fififadi, thank you for you're kind words. We lodged an appeal in July 2019 and had the court date for late December 2019. So 5 months in total for a hearing. We were then notified that we had won our appeal 2 weeks after the hearing (the longest 2 weeks of my life). I am based in Newport, South-...

After a successful appeal, my partner has received an a email to submit their passport to the Visa Application Centre, in Colombo, Sri Lanka, so i assume so it can be sent off for a visa. Considering that there aren't any aggravating circumstances, how likely will the decision be over turned?

Spouse visa refused under 320 (11). Appeal?

My partners spouse visa was refused under 320(11) for previously contrived to frustrate immigration rules. My partner entered into U.K 7 years ago on a student visa. The university ended his course after 1 year due to bad attendance. He therefore overstayed and continued to work until the HO eventua...
