Spouse visa

What if one is making an application from outside UK? I can see the form is VAF4A but,
1) for long will the visa be granted
2) will these be treated as settlement visa, as they are only granting an extension of the leave isn't?

Thanks

TB

Hi, Does the hospital give the TB certificate to us or would they send to BHC directly? The pre-entry screening requirement we rolled out on 16th August.. Anyone who applied prior to this is advised to carry an x-ray - people who apply after 16th August would have a certificate to confirm they are c...

Hi Thanks for your info. Can i ask, 1) What visa status is yours in the UK? 2) What form did you apply for your wife in India? I have ILR in the UK and we have been married for about 6 months only. If she was in the UK I would have applied for FLR(M) visa but as she is now in India, we are looking t...

She doesn't yet qualify for ILR under the 5yr requirement. We both had applied on the same day (Yeste...

Tier 1 dependant maintenance using Hi-Save online statement?

Hello I am in the process of applying for my wife's Tier 1 dependant visa. I just encountered that the statement for my maintenance funds are from the ICICI Hi-Save account. These are not exclusively online account but their statements are delivered electronically only. I checked with ICICI UK but, ...

Be quick . Thanks for that. Just learned from the Indian Embassy's UK website that one can apply for re-issue of passport one year before expiry. If this is the case, I will then apply for new passport this year and then can file for dependent visa in Jan 2012, after the marriage. I guess, this wou...

Hello All, I got engaged to a girl in India few days ago and we are planning to get married sometime in Late Jan or early Feb 2012. But, the problem here is my Passport is set to expire in May 2012 & in August 2012 I complete the five year period for my Tier 1 visa. (I entered UK in August 2007, i.e...

Glad someone asked this... Assuming you'll land in Heathrow and would move somewhere in London & then start searching for jobs. Just like i did. TAXI: You can book a minicab (pre-arranged cab) online say from www.londonheathrowcars.com or likewise... or you can take the Heathrow express (~£16) to r...

Re: Tenancy Agreement and Sponsor Letter

1. How do I get a tenancy agreement for the family when my current tenancy is for my single room in a houseshare? For my wife and 2 kids, I would need atleast 2 rooms. What are the options for sourcing the tenancy agreement? Leaving HO, immigration & other things aside - where will your family stay...

Why are you looking on direct.gov.uk for the answer to your question? 'coz the Cayman Islands embassy in london asked me to - as they don't handle any passports/visas. And the Passport Office has no real dealings with non-British passport holders or people applying for British passports so i don't ...

Travelling to British Overseas Territories under Tier 1 visa

Hi, This maynot be the right forum, if so, I'll move it. I was wondering if one can visit BOTs (British Overseas Territories) as a tourist under Tier 1 visa. I just want to be there for a week or two. From http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en/howtoapply/vafs/ - I get this form VAF8A which mentions 'is for u...

For maintenance, the funds should be instantly accessible. FDs by the very name imply they are locked away for a certain period like 2yr or 5yr & you incur a fee to terminate the deposit. (~90days interest) So, I don't think this is a valid source for maintenance. (unless the FD is maturing close to...

Depends when you're sending the application. HO only needs it to ascertain that you have had the funds over the previous 3 months & that you can sustain your initial period with that. Which means, if you are applying today 18Feb10, you must show them a minimum of £2800 (for single applicant) over t...

There was a case, where the extension was on hold for 60+days.
The issue was that the same - 2 yr old photographs.

Re: International driving licence query

Though 1yr allowance is legal, I suggest you to get UK license asap. The similarity between Indian & UK driving ends with being "left-hand side drive". There are lots of rules which we wouldn't have followed (eg turning in a roundabout) but you need to be aware & practise them here. So better be saf...

Just to re-affirm things at our end. Are you sure the visa extension is until Sep 2011? and NOT Sep 2012? 'am not questioning your maths but just that we tend to overlook when we are all excited. Hi All, I have been approved for 2 years instead of 3 years. Initially I was granted the Visa for 2 year...
