Re: Right to Work in Ireland for non-EEA Spouse of UK Citize

EUsmileWEallsmile: I don't want to complain -- I'm basically pleased with the way we've been treated! Perhaps my expectations were very low after dealing with immigration authorities in the US, India, and the UK. But I think the INIS has been responsive, fair, and decent. And, if they hadn't been, ...

The right to work stems directly from the directive. I acknowledge the practical difficulties one may have demonstrating the right to work without the expected documentation.

How far to you have to travel? How inconvenient is the interview location and time? Thank you @EUsmileWEallsmile for your comment. Its long far from southeast London to Liverpool. From my place to interview place is around 260 miles and time givven for the interview is 12pm. So I think I have to st...

Re: From tier 2 to EEA

In my understanding, by the romanian embassy site, the eea1 is for one to prove he is a lawful resident in the uk. I agree with the romanian embassy that, from their perspective, it makes sense There is no UK requirement for registration, unlike some other EU member states. The embassy ought to be ...

Hi Callum.a, I'm American and my wife is British. I was unable to get even my temporary Stamp 4 until we had the all the proper documentation, including payslips and even a PRTB registration. This meant my wife had to leave a job that refused to provide proper payslips, and we had to move house bec...

Re: (EEA2) Received invitation for interview

I have no experience of interviews. The purpose of it will be to check that the application is genuine. Your application may have been randomly selected, I don't know. I suspect you've been given a generic letter requesting that you bring general evidence that might assist you at the interview. If y...

Re: From tier 2 to EEA

I'm not sure why the Romanian embassy would insist that you have a residence certificate. They will have their procedures of course, but the UK does not make the application of a residence certificate mandatory.

Re: Danish Resident Card

Absences of up to six months will not affect the validity of the Danish residence card (or twelve months for important reasons such as work). If you leave Denmark permanently, then the card may become invalid. Your wife can apply for a UK issued residence card once in the UK. In order to use that, s...

Re: From tier 2 to EEA

If you qualified for a tier2 visa, benign Romanian, I cannot see how you would not have qualified for a work permit even when restrictions were in place. You may find that your road to permanent residency commenced earlier than you'd thought. There is no requirement for you to apply for a residence ...

You are entitled to query the result. A refusal should be clear so that the applicant understands what was at issue.

Were you given permission to appeal?

A family member of an EU citizen can apply for a visa to accompany spouse. It is likely that the authorities will expect the EU national job-seeker to have a good prospect of finding work.

As long as you are the family member of an EU citizen exercising treaty rights, your stay in the UK is legal.

You can choose to fight your point of principle or you can make life easy for yourself.

It is unlikely that you will be able to apply for two visas at the same time. Usually, passports are retained until visa is processed.

It is possible to enter Bulgaria as you describe, but you won't get a Schengen stamp unless you enter a Schengen country.
