Hi Knapps, if you are going through the EU route, your time starts ticking from the time you and your EU partner start living together in the state and not when your Resident card was confirmed.

Hi Tanveer,

Have a look at the EEA 3 Form, and see if your partner will have the necessary document to support it.

Opening a bank account in 2005 is fine, she will just need to provide evidence for 2004, or she might just be border line okay.

Far from it Wanderer. If you read my statement carefully, you will notice that i stated, if they were providing all her needs and gave her money that will be considered an allowance rather than a wage. I know to some, it might appear i am threading on a slippery slope or a thin edge of the wedge, bu...

You are right. It never clicked. This chap will not be able to obtain the fiance visa. If he came of age (18) in 2008, then he will be about 19 going 20 now.

I suspect he would need to wait for another year or two. It would be best for him not to submit an application as he would loose his money.

She can claim that she was living in the UK as a Self Sufficient Person. But she will need bank statement and Medical insurance to support that, and the family she was living with, could also provide a supporting letter, that they were providing for her needs. That is, if they were giving her money,...

Who is the Him? is it your son or you wife's. It is perfectly fine for the family to provide you with accommodation, but that is where the support is suppose to end as ruled by a UK judge. Is the family accommodation suitable enough. The money should be paid into an account, for which you will be pr...

Re: Few ??? on Fiance visa

Travel dates? Would this be my return plane ticket to the UK? I got my return ticket flying out of DC around the end of November...if I put that date, will it push back the processing date? As I would have time to wait. As soon as I get my fiance visa, I am planning on leaving as soon as I can. You...

Congratulations mate. That is all she would need. The resident card is usually affixed on the applicant's passport.

How long did it take in total, from application to approval.

[There is no obligation for a woman in the UK to stay with a man if she does not want to. A woman cannot be forced to "see the error of her ways". She also cannot lie on an application for your ILR without quite probably commiting a criminal offence. I hope you are not seeking to take my comment ou...

Yes i lived in Copenhagen (Denmark). They are very intolerant, and they hide their intolerance under the guise of Nationalism and Patriotism.

They make everything looks perfect on their website, but when you deal with their departments, the picture is different.

Perfectly correct. Conditions clarified. I suppose the Frequently asked question, was referring to people who already had a right to work before applying for FLR. How do I qualify to join my fiancé, fiancée or proposed civil partner in the UK? You must show that: * you plan to marry or register a ...

If you don't want to languish in British jail or a police cell overnight, i will advise you to cease/desist from contacting this woman, to prevent a bad situation getting worse, until at least she finally realises the errors of her ways and decide to reconcile. Your right to switch to other immigrat...

The frequently asked question on the FLR website states that she can work, whiles her application for FLR(M) is pending, provided she submits it in time.

The majority of the Irish population are very welcoming, friendly and has a very laid back approach to things. Of the nearly 6 European countries, including 1 which i lived in for the most part of my life, the Irish are the best in terms of hospitality and tolerance. You cannot compare the general p...

The British insist you do, on their 17 pages form, but the law says you need not. However, you healthy income will suffice, should the entry clearance officer intend on violating the law again, by asking you to provide this information.

That is awful. It is a terrible thing to do to someone you claim you love, in a foreign country, when they have done nothing wrong to you. Have you any friends or relatives in the UK. Have you any qualifications or degree, or any ambitions or plans to study in the UK? Remember, even if she reports y...

Are you guys thinking of getting married or to stay together as unmarried partners?

You will not qualify under the immigration rules for Settlement as unmarried partner, as you don't meet the requirement, however you can qualify for fiance visa, provided you intend on getting married once in the UK.

OP if you want to stay in the UK, you seriously have to work on reconciling things with your wife. Have you got any child or children by the way, in whose life/lives you are playing a substantial/active part? She sponsored your visa, but she is not legally obliged to pay you a penny for maintenance....

She would have had a permanent Resident Status (ILR) before acquiring British Citizenship. She can continue using her Tanzanian Passport with her ILR and show the British one when she arrives at UK port, or the Tanzanian one if she doesn't mind queuing up for an hour or two. That is perfectly legal....
