If you apply for a spouse visa after the marriage, you won't need to apply for FLR(M) once you arrive in the UK.

The OP says an hour and a half. Wouldn't it speed the process up if they spoke to the sponsor (wife) waiting at the airport.

Similar situation, my husband was held in Immigration last year for just over an hour coming back from a visit to family and the female officer said this was to verify his address. He told her I was in the airport and had documents which would prove this, but she wasn't interested.

I think you misunderstood me. I meant did you work under false name or documents in the UK, not Spain...although maybe you do mean in the UK. You need to be aware of 320(11) in the UKBA regulations where you can be refused for false identity etc. Hopefully, they're just routine checks which won't un...

OK. Have you been asked how you entered? Did you work with false documents? Passport? I'm trying to see it from the ECO's viewpoint, as much as I'm able to.

I believe you'll find that in order to return to settle under EU regulations (using Surinder Singh ruling) your wife would need to have been 'exercising her treaty rights' in Spain, by working, studying, or by proving self-sufficiency. There are other members with more knowledge on this route. You w...

The ECO won't be interested in your past credit history...just in how your finances look at present. The tenancy agreement if it shows how many rooms should be fine. I hope it goes through smoothly and quickly for you. The fact that your fiance was with you in the UK and is shown on the rental agree...

When you've been advised about housing reports etc, it's to show that the accomodation is adequate for you both...no overcrowding. So you need to show how many rooms the property has and what size. Some councils offer this as a service for a fee. 48 hours or even 2 weeks would be amazingly quick for...

When you say legal advisors 'go on about accomodation' etc for a spouse application, they are absolutely correct. Basically, you need to submit proof of the following: Your relationship is genuine. You have adequate accomodation in the UK, and if rented, a letter from the landlord agreeing to your w...

They will have the same tax codes. This is issued by HMRC to tell your employers (both of them) how much tax to deduct. Don't worry about it.

The fee for FLR(M) has increased to £465 for postal, and £665 for an in person application. Your fiance won't be able to work legally in the UK until FLR has been granted. She may have to wait 3 months for a postal application to be processed. The initial fiance visa will be £585 . You didn't con...

The instruction to checking officers is not to refuse spouse ILR applications purely on fianancial grounds, and the fact that you have savings should go in your favour. Regarding FLR(M) due to the month's gap. This is no longer necessary as there's now a concession in place allowing you to apply by ...

If you separate his visa becomes invalid, and you should inform the Home Office that the marriage is no longer subsisting. They may not take steps to remove him, but if he left the UK he would face refusal on re-entry if the information is on the system. Regarding ILR, unless you sign the applicatio...

Some Overeas Posts are willing to accept documents in the local language, while others are not. It's safer to have them translated, unless you have confirmation that Columbia will accept them (I assume) in Spanish.

Why not ask Jean-Paul from this forum...or Rodrigo and Omeo from another forum (they work together and share the same computer). All 3 have exactly the same problem with marrying their cousin on a 6 month visitor visa (2nd visit). I reckon the answer will be the same as they have all been given. May...
