Re: Bank statements required for SET(O) UK ancestry

An approval letter, if the application is approved on the day.
An acknowledgement that an application has been received, if the application is undecided on the day for some reason or deferred for some reason.

In-person applications are not a guarantee of same day approval.

Re: ILR Tier 1 Gen Help

A tax overview document does not state the income, only the tax. A UKVI caseworker is not going to wreck his brains to figure out the "income" on which the tax, as shown in the tax overview, has been paid and whether that income is the same as what has been declared to UKVI / HMRC in the past. Likew...

Re: ILR Tier 1 Gen Help

Beyond me why people don't make themselves aware of the forum T&Cs before starting to post on the forum! please restrict your queries to immigration matters - this is not the place to search for solicitors nor to ask about availability / non-availability of PM facility or alternatives. This is not a...

Re: Long Residence (10 years) SET (LR) applications

What do you think home office will apply new 3c act or the 3c act was in 2014. I stand to be corrected but AFAIK the "Act" has not changed. The new guidance only clarifies something that was either not clear before (in previous versions of the guidance) or perhaps was being interpreted wrongly and ...

Surprisingly, this requirement is not mentioned in the PBS dependant policy guidance. But only finds mention the Tier 2 (Entrpreneur) policy migrant which is for "principal / main migrants".

Also shows that there is no consistency in how caseworkers follow HMPO's policy regarding this issue.

Re: ILR Tier 1 Gen Help

If the caseworker cannot see the updated tax information on their systems and if you cannot provide them with written confirmation from HMRC that the income & tax figures have been amended and all tax has been paid (e.g. - through a SA302) then it is almost certain that the application will be refus...

Re: Tier 2 General to ILR - Sponsor won't extend

so lets say her current employer informs UKVI on 1st june 2016. then UKVI takes a decision to curtail leave and sends a letter on 20th Jun 2016. so as you guided she can stay in UK or search for an sponsor by 20th Aug 2016 (20th June +60 days) Yes. But I agree with CR001 that the decision to curtai...

Re: Tier 2 General to ILR - Sponsor won't extend

Your wife's sponsor cannot "cancel the visa" on 01-Jun-16. All the sponsor can do is inform UKVI that the sponsorship has been terminated w.e.f. 01-Jun-16. UKVI will then decide whether to curtail leave or not. Since the current leave is due to expire in 2017, the decision will be to curtail leave. ...

Now one can apply for naturalisation and passport together.

Though not sure but I believe this can only be done through NCS, not on your own. But I stand to be corrected on this.

Simply put, you need to go back after your 12 months are over and you may apply to return to UK without serving cooling-off period if you can find a job that pays £155,300 or more.

It is the (inefficient, untrained) caseworker who is at fault. There is no requirement for anyone who has applied for ILR on / after 28-Oct-2013 to provide any evidence of fulfilling KoLL requirement. The form AN itself asks the applicant to confirm that he/she fulfilled the said requirement to qual...
