Hi Hish and Maroc2010...just one point. Although the ECO can contact the sponsor's employer they don't always do so, so don't think that if the Employer hasn't been contacted that nothing is progressing.

Abbi you bank statements will presumably show the rent being paid, but you should show something formal from the landlord to show you are renting the property. Do you have a tenancy agreement?

If you don't already have one, ask your landlord for a written Tenancy Agreement. Submit this with your application. You should also be given some form of receipt for your rent paid such as a rent book. This is for your own protection as much as anything. You have other proof of address in both your...

It doesn't surprise me that the fee is £150 in the UK. I believe it converts from local currency to £90 in India!

Don't worry. They'll probably ask for it, but it's not essential that they see it. They have to tick the form to say whether you've shown it to them or not.
The fact that you submitted the pass certificate for ILR will be sufficient.

The Post Office aren't always correct. I was given the wrong information with a passport application sent through the Post Office checking service which caused delays with issuing my passport. The Post Office refunded my checking fee as compensation!
I would send the marriage certificate.

You can't be refused a Spouse visa due to a simple overstay, which is what your Solicitor should have advised you.
You have proof of joint address and household bills etc showing you were living together in a relationship 'akin to marriage' for at least 2 years?
