Bankers Draft NI

My wife has just received her approval letter (dated 25/03/19). Applied in Nov 17, 2nd letter Oct 18. As expected, she has been asked to submit the 950 Euro fee as a bankers draft, drawn on an Irish Bank. Unfortunately, the Ulster Bank, who issued her initial application draft, no longer issue Euro ...

INIS email switched off?

Has anyone received an email response from INIS citizenship in the last week or so? I have sent 2 (fairly brief) emails in that time, each time without reply. In both cases I did not receive a confirmation email containing their commitment to reply (I checked my spam and junk folders to make doubly ...

Re: Wife's application for naturalisation rejected for no (valid) reason

This is dreadful. When did you apply? Had you any previous correspondence with INIS prior to your refusal (requests for further information, additional evidence, etc)? Has your wife been absent from NI for over 6 weeks in any year, or for an extended period of time? Just to clarify, when were you ma...

Re: Citizenship applications from Northern Ireland

Quite angry at INIS. My wife applied in October - based on marriage & 3 years continuous residence in NI. Received a request in Mid November for 6 months bank statements for 14 & 16, and a police check (which my solicitor claimed wasn’t necessary). Documents were received by INIS on 19 December. We ...

Re: Bank Statement request

Thanks for the quick reply! Unfortunately, my wife’s bank account was closed after her departure from Germany (closed by the bank in her absence - German banks are strange) so she hasn’t received proof of its closure, nor can she obtain it). She has another, US account, but it won’t show day to day ...

Bank Statement request

Hi, My wife has just had her first response from INIS regarding her recent application for Irish citizenship (living in NI, married to Irish citizen). For context, a lawyer checked our application prior to sending and assured us that we had gathered all the required information and evidence. However...

FLR(M) Extension - Questions and Document List

Hi, I'm seeking guidance on the extension process for a FLR(M) visa. My American wife arrived in the UK on a fiancée visa before switching to a FLR(M) visa after our wedding. Her visa is due to expire at the end of April. We currently live in Belfast. 1) We are aware of the 28 day rule for extension...

I have been seeing my US girlfriend for 6 years - a long distance relationship; plenty of meetings, but no official co-habitiation. We recently became engaged at Easter. She is a US ci...
