Passport application

Hiya

I just wondered when applying for a Britis Passport, is it necessary that the counter signatory needs to provide a written refrence on headed paper?

I have heard a few people mention this and I'm confused.

Many thanks

Hiya Chipmunk, sounds like good news. When did you apply, cos I've got a feeling you applied around the time I did.

So hopefully a letter will be winging its way to me soon!

I just called them, got the usual we cant give you any details because it is under 6 months, but he said I can look to see if any letters have been sent to you. He looked but saw no letters had been sent (therefore I know that no decision has been made yet). Maybe this is a better way to ask the adv...

Self employed and BC

Hiya I submitted my BC application on the 28/02/2012, I am self employed, but only in the current tax year, so I do not need to submit my tax return until after April 5th 2012. I submitted a letter from HMRC that showed I had registered as self employed on the 18/04/2011 as HO said this was acceptab...

Hiya

I spoke to HO about this, they said to wait at least 3 months from the date of application until you request the passport back so that it doesnt affect the application. They said after this time it can be copied (if it hasnt been already) and sent back to the applicant within about 10 days.

Some of those advisors are awful, I have had the same woman on two occasions, they just treat you like a nuisance, so I wouldn't be suprised if it was her!

Hiya

I spoke to the Passport office helpline, they said that you must send your current passport. If you entered the UK on a different passport that is now expired you must send that also.

Hiya

I applied for BC as spouse of British Citizen. On my approval letter is says application type AN(6)+2. Just wondered if anyone else applying as this type had the same reference number?

Many thanks

Hiya Many thanks you for your reply. It was an acknowledgement letter. Did they muck up your citizenship certiificate with your incorrect name. I am worried they will with mine. Hiya You cannot be out of the UK for more than 90 days in the year before you apply for BC. So from what I have read I believe the earliest time you can apply for BC is September 2012, as long as you have not spent more that 90 days outside of the Uk between september 2011 to september 2012. Think i...
