Rozen has given you the link. Apply after the marriage on form FLR(M) which you can download from the UKBA website. Croydon is one of the PEO centres (for personal applications)...there are others around the country. For pre-bookable (only) appointments the visa fee is £665.00 Postal applications (...

I've only given you those as examples...to give you an idea of the sort of documents to submit.

Remember though that ILR won't be around when you apply in 2011 and Probationary Citizenship replaces it...so the advice you're being given now may well not apply.

You were given incorrect information regarding the process. You need to complete form FLR(M) which you can download from the UKBA website, and either submit it by post together with the documents listed, or apply in person at a PEO...prior appointment only. Fees as given in my previous post. Remembe...

You've missed the point. You will need (as the regulations are in 2009..anyone's guess 2011)...6 documents showing joint address. For example: 1 x NHS card 1 x Utility bill 1 x Council Tax 1 x TV Licence 1 x Insurance certificate 1 x Telephone bill These should be as evenly spread out as possible so...

Did you apply for a fiance visa which would give you 6 months in which to marry and then after the wedding apply to the Home Office for Further Leave to Remain - FLR(M)...which is a 2 year spouse visa. Or...did you apply for a Marriage Visit Visa which is intended for someone who wishes to marry in ...

I do understand...and these documents would be relevant if you were applying shortly....but with ILR set to change if your application is some way off, this list may be out of date.
You'll need documents spanning the full 2 years. Are the documents you list spread evenly over 2 years?

If the application is made in person from within the UK it will be refused, as they will ask to check the attendance records which will prove her student visa invalid.

If it's an overstay with no illegal entry or false documents or use of NHS to which you weren't entitled, then you can't be refused purely for the overstay if you're applying for a spouse visa. You do however, need to make sure that the rest of your application is 100%, as it will come under a great...

If your fiancee applies in person to switch to spouse she will almost certainly be refused once they check her attendance record...which they will ask to see. She may get away with a postal application, but her safest option would be to apply for a spouse visa from her home country. It's the switchi...

Not at all. You can continue on your present student visa and then once you reach the age of 21 if you decide you want to settle here you can switch to Further Leave to Remain - form FLR(M) from within the UK, which will grant you a 2 year spouse visa. This is as long as you are able to apply before...

You can apply for a COA under the age of 21, but you can't apply for a spouse visa after the marriage until both of you are 21.

Bear in mind however, that if you're planning a holiday this Summer, you may have to wait some time for an appointment. My husband waited 3 months once for the first available slot. The Spanish consulate unfortunately are probably the least helpful and don't issue the visa on the day...you have to g...

You can't remarry in the UK. Your marriage in the US is recogised as legal here. Basically, you can't marry twice (to the same person), without divorcing in between. However well-meant, the advice given by the friend is 'nonsense.

You don't need to be with her when she applies (Form VAF4a), and assuming you can show that you have been in contact during the time apart, it shouldn't be a problem.
