Having friends or family offering to help him financially isn't an option as 3rd party financial support is not allowed for a spouse visa application.
You have to prove that you can support yourselves without help from others.

You have a weak application regarding finance. You would need to show that you can support him financially without claiming extra benefits, which will difficult to prove if you're only working part-time and your income is low. Many straightforward applications are refused on finance alone. Although ...

I hope you mean before your settlement visa expires. Download SET(M) from the UKBA website and the guide notes will give you a list of documents required. Importantly, have you passed the Life in the UK test or completed an ESOL Citizens course? ILR won't be issued without this.

You marry first in Croatia, and then apply at the British Embassy for a Spouse visa. You don't need a visa to get married.

Have you checked that your solicitor has received the letter? If he has he'll be able to confirm what further information the HO require. I would have contacted him first! We'll just be 2nd guessing, which will get you knowhere.

Miracles do happen! News from the Op on another forum is that the visa has been granted! Maybe due to the fact that the spouse will be sponsored for study in the UK by her parents.

If you have savings and nothing has changed from your fiance application I can't see why you would have a problem applying in person.

He will still have legal status while the application is being processed.
You shouldn't have a problem with the FLR visa if nothing has changed
since you applied for fiance visa. If they granted this, they should issue the spouse FLR visa. (An ID card now, not a visa vignette in the passport)

Your wife can't apply for a spouse visa (what you call a residence visa) from within the UK while she's there on a visitor visa....as I believe I said in my previous post. Can only be applied for from the Phillipines.

If you're still with us and want confirmation, it's form FLR(M). Bear in mind that he won't be legally able to work until the application has been granted and postal applications are taking around 3 months to process. However, you can apply in person for a higher fee.

If you're British, then you can't apply under EU regulations for an EEA permit. Unless you'd been living and working or studying in another EU state. i.e not the Philippines. If you applied for a vistor visa (tourist) you wouldn't be able to switch to spouse from within the UK...your wife would have...

You may get well get away with applying for a settlement visa from there with your £12,000 savings, for you both to return together. A job offer would help if you have any contact in the UK who would supply this in writing. You can live with your parents, but in the application you'll have to submi...

Can I ask, if you were in the UK on a 2 year WHV andleft before expiry, are you sure you've got documental proof of living at...

I don't believe that the business loan will be a problem, but as far as proving UPV status goes, the 6 months apart may. Generally with a UPV application there is a limit to how long the break can be, and I seem to recall that it's 3 months, but wait for confirmation on this. UPV's tend to come unde...
