Re: Family/Spouse Visa after 11th March

Thanks Casa, I read that article before I posted message on this forum. I just wanted to confirm if someone else has a different point of view. It's not an article as such. It's the official announcement from the Home Office/UK Parliament, setting out the terms for the new requirements. In my hones...

Re: Family/Spouse Visa after 11th March

Hey everyone, my brother recently got married and his wife will soon be applying for Family Visa to join him in the UK. There is a likelihood that she might apply for the visa after 11th March. My brother got his Health and Care Visa last year in March. Wonder if this new law will affect his situat...

Re: ILR - Financial requirements working for my partner

Hi guys, I am just about to collect all the documents to apply for my ILR (5 years route), and I have one question. My partner has a limited company with just four employees (I am one of them). I have been working here for a long time. When I applied for my second part of the Leave to remain, I onl...

Those already on the settlement route won't be subject to the income increase. This has been officially confirmed by the Home Office.

The Home Office will want to see documented evidence of official reports of DV. e.g from police and/or GP. They don't simply take the word of the applicant.

Re: 17 Years in UK but husband dont support visa application

Could withholding of conjugal affections be counted as domestic violence? Some interpretations of laws are so broad one can sail an aircraft carrier through them. I agree with @Frontier Mole that it does not qualify as modern slavery. She can up sticks and leave any time she wants. From the circums...

As she mentioned a lawyer advised them of proxy marriage to cement his stay. You should know the lawyer has a good reason to recommend that.

https://tribuneonlineng.com/validity-of-proxy-marriages-in-the-eyes-of-the-law/ - even in Nigeria proxy marriage is not constituted as official until the Marriage Act requirements are met. Thanks all for the replies. They're very close to retirement but have no medical or physical dependencies, so I guess that makes it a harder job based on information given. What are the rules if they buy property (with cash) in the UK? Does that entitle them to settlement after a number of years, o...

Currently in the UK the grounds for divorce are : The parties have lived apart for two years (consent of the other party is required). The parties have lived apart for five years ( consent of the oth...

Re: US citizen parents joining me in UK

Further to the advice already given, since the Immigration Rules were tightened on the 9th July 2012, the Adult Dependent Visa has proved to be one of the most difficult to achieve with only 3.5 - 4% being approved. Within this small percent, many have only succeeded after a lengthy and costly appea...

Re: Parents in PK - what are my options?

Sadly, the fact that you are supporting your parents financially actually weakens their visitor visa application.

The Case Worker will want to see documented evidence that there are stronger reasons for them to return home, than they would have to remain in the UK.
