Maintaince funds Lumpsump Lodgement

Hi All,
One of my friend has all the qualifications to apply for Tier 1 except Maintaince funds. As it was all of a sudden, he decided to borrow funds and make a lumpsump lodgement of 3000 pounds (equivalent Indian Rupees). Would they consider that amount if he applies after 3 months from today.
