Re: Guidance Regarding Strike Impact affecting my Visa

You have a Student visa that is valid until 30 January 2024, which is a week after the date for your appeal outcome. I assume the appeal decision date of 23 January 2024 is deliberate, to allow you to extend your Student visa if it is successful. Presumably the ideal outcome of the appeal on that da...

Re: Switch to Skilled Worker visa from Student Dependet

does that mean that, a dependant of a student, from Autumn '23 or prior, who has a valid CoS can switch from being a dependant of a Student to a Skilled Worker visa, e.g, Health and Care Worker Visa or any Tier 2, in the UK without having to go to their home country to apply? This has always been t...

The application portal itself explains what to do if you do not have a BRP.

Re: Withdrawn from study due to sickness new CAS and new Visa

This is the answer I was looking for! I'm sure it is, but it is only correct if you are doing a PhD, repeating a module, or re-sitting an exam. Hopefully that is what you are doing. In all other situations, the substantive requirement of paragraph ST 14.1 applies to applications made in the UK ("ap...

Re: Further leave to remain

My BRP will expire on 01/01/24. And due to holidays am unable to get new CAS till 10/01/23 from University as I applied for extension and surely will grab that. Are you switching from a different type of visa, or extending a Student visa? If the latter, why do you need to extend, given that a Stude...

Re: Withdrawn from study due to sickness new CAS and new Visa

My question is do I need to go back to my home country to get a new visa? Yes. It seems likely that the university has explained this, and they may assume that you have already returned home in order to apply for the new visa. The problem is, even I am issued a new CAS, I don’t have enough time to ...

my query is when should I start paying council tax and should I notify the council that I'm no longer a student and set up the payment for council tax from my side or will this be handled by the council?
This is not a visa query. Your Student visa has no bearing on the matter.

Re: Visa issues. Dissertation Resubmission

Sorry I didn't get you. While applying for PSW, they check the hours of working. Right. I didn't get that university checks the hours of working. The university checks that you are eligible to apply, based on your qualification and on your compliance with your Student visa conditions. Separately, t...

It is the university that checks this and confirms your eligibility for the Graduate visa, so you need to ask them.

Also during resubmission of Dissertation, it is mandatory to stay with 20 hours work right. How do they create term time and off term time after 1st submission to 2nd submission. That's a question for your university, but it is term-time until you have completed the course according to the new end ...

Re: Visa issues. Dissertation Resubmission

You can apply for a new visa right up to the date of your current expiry date. As long as your university has issued a CAS, which they can only do if the course has not finished, which will be some time before the expiry date of the visa. Once you have a CAS, you can apply any time on or before the...

They didnt say any specific reason but what they said was we cannot provide inorder to wait for results. It is not in order to wait for your results, it is to complete your course. Why did they refuse to issue a CAS? This would be their choice, so I hope they are not hiding behind Home Office rules saying they are not allowed to.

That is what it says. Your spouse can only switch once they complete their course. It just means that OP's spouse needs to stay on their Student visa for now, and s...
