Re: ILR & eGates - can they change visa status? And how to check?

Can't really answer this question, except to say I have never heard of eGates changing status from ILR to visitor visa. I have heard that border force officers have sometimes stamped passports for some reason or other but border force can't just change your status, overriding ILR for example. There ...

Re: Naturalisation queries to apply Children only

MN1 is the correct form to apply for registration of children as British citizens. Can you please explain what category you have selected? Under what heading is "register as a child"? By "Other" you mean "at Home Secretary's discretion"? Were children born abroad? Please clarify. Caseworkers will kn...

Re: Naturalisation & expired foreign passport

Hi I am seeking guidance/clarity on this as I keep getting conflicting answers and no clear guidance that I could find on the gov website. I have ILR. I do not want to renew my foreign passport unless absolutely necessary as I've never been back/not going back/it takes stupidly long and is expensiv...

Yes each page. Why add additional documents? Of course you are free to add anything you wish but it’s not an immigration application where you have to document lots of information.

Re: Questions on AN and MN1 forms

Not sure what happens in that scenario- normal recommend is to wait til 12 months are completed avoid any possibility of issues. I’m aware for ILR timings can be managed but naturalisation doesn’t come under immigration rules so best to stick with the rules.

Re: UKVI Reply

Yes - absolutely normal. It's a standard email, you are just under 6 months.
Whilst they have a processing target of 6 months it's not a guarantee. You should not read anything into it except they are running slow.

Referees are rarely contacted. It’s not an indication of where your application is.

Re: ESTA & Transit Visa

1) ESTA is an online only application BEFORE you travel to the US, if your country qualifies for ESTA "visa waiver" (UK citizen is ok) - https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/. It's not a visa - US entry officer though has the final say for entry clearance.
2) don't know.

Re: Not heard back after sending documents for MN1 application

Sorry didn't actually finish my earlier post. What I meant was they would have chased for the documents by now. But you have the the delivery confirmation from DHL (for an address in Liverpool I assume?). So I would expect they have the documents. Unfortunately the communications from UKVI are often...

The answer to all your questions is NO.

Note that UKVI or Home Office don’t track what British citizens are doing - there’s no central database of citizens that’s why we don’t have ID cards!

Re: Settled status = dependency still?

So having settled status (not having applied for ILR Separately) means you are completely independent no matter what the circumstances are to have gotten in it i.e dependent on partner ? EUSS and ILR are the same for the purpose of your query - ILR is for those under the UK Visa system, no need to ...

Re: Settled status = dependency still?

If you hold full EUSS/ILR status then you are "free from Immigration time restrictions", that means you are free stay in the UK as long as you like without any further specific permissions, you are also independent of your original sponsor, you are no longer a dependent under immigration rules. You ...

The government took GPs off the referee professions list so they can concentrate more on their NHS duties ... about 12(?) years ago.

There's no direct "registration", all requirements need to be complied with.
A child born outside UK needs ILR. What is other parent's UK immigration status?
Child can apply for ILR when other parent applies for ILR.

Re: Date of Spouse/family visa application submission, date of payment or Biometrics?

For all UK applications the application date is when you submit/pay online - the biometrics date is not relevant for this.
If you applied before the changes kick in the you should be under the old rules.
