self employed and applying for hubbys settlement visa, help!

Post by daydreamer » Thu May 13, 2010 3:19 am

hi all, hope everyone is fine. Thank god for this board! :) this is my first post as im a newbie, and even if no one can help me :( i'll still thank those who contribute to the board and help so many ppl. Applying for any visa is a real stressful experience, so its nice to share with ppl who can relate.
Anyway, my dilemma is this, im a self employed Private tutor, have monthly earnings alittle over £1000. Ive only been self employed for 7 months and i dont have solid proof of earnings, apart from savings of under £3000!!!
We've been married for over two years, he works in Dubai, so i travelled out there twice, on the second occasion worked there for 6 months. Hes also recently stayed with me for 2 months in UK on a visit visa. Im now 6 months pregnant, and was wondering if its a good idea to mention this in the application?? I have my midwifes notes, hospital letters etc as proof. So far these are the documents ive put together:
- paperwork from my accountant aswell as taxation papers, bank statements to show savings, copy of deeds to a house whos ownership is shared between me and my dad, property inspection report (we plan to live with my parents until hubby starts earning), university degree certificate as proof that im a qualified tutor, and a job offer letter from a family friend who runs an injury claims firm, emails, phone records/bills as proof of contact, wedding pictures and others taken in Dubai.

I just have this niggling feeling that they will refuse my husbands visa. I know they are not unreasonable ppl  just dont think i have enough to support my husbands applic??? maybe its just my pregnancy hormones :(
can anyone give me some advice please, my husband has already missed both scans :( i desperatly want him to be here for the birth.

Sorry this post is all over the place, its wayyyyyyyyyyyy past my bedtime, im tired stressed and pregnant, so im sure you nice ppl will over look it.
Thanks in advance, take care all.
