Self employed artist immigration?

Post by jellyfish » Tue Aug 28, 2007 7:38 pm

I'm a self-employed/freelance artist in the UK.

I've been looking at the Self employed business class visa and was wondering if anyone has an experience of this category... I was wondering how successful you need to be to be considered? I work with an international client base, so it does not really matter what country I live in.

It's a long 48 month wait at the London High Commission, so was wondering if theres any other (faster) route for artists and / or the self employed? It is possible to enter on a temporary work permit and apply for the full visa while in Canada?

I'm not sure how you can apply on a temporary basis as a self employed artist though as you seem to need a work offer. Its pretty unlikely to get a full-time job offer in my field!

I also looked at the under 35 Bunac working holiday visa, but thats only for 12 months...

any thoughts on this would be appreciated...
