self employed

Hi guys,

Hope everyone is doing well, just need to know something if you anyone can help out, I registered myself as self employed on 3rd september following hmrc online form, they just gave me a gateway user id, but I haven't recieved any welcome or confirmation letter from them, any idea when I will recieve it as its almost more than 2 weeks. 

Will be appreciated for helping out.

What you need from HMRC is a Corporation Tax Letter (since you are applying for PSW's 50K route).

Just google it and you will find out.

I don't know too much about self employment, but they do not pay corporation tax.

@ MWK, when you register as self-employed online with HMRC, you will be send 2 letters, one is your gateway id and the other will be your UTR no.

If you don't get both letters within 2-4wks of registering online, call them on phone to find out if they send it already or maybe they still haven't send it out. But try to wait for at least 3weeks from date of registration before contacting them or you can decide to call them straightaway if its urgent.
