Serious deadline - Stressing!!!

I have finished my degree in July and only received my certificate in the first week of November. My current visa expires at the end of March 2012. However, in May 2011 I've book my Christmas Holiday to SA (leaving 17/12 returning 02/01).

I was then put into a dilemma:

1. Do I apply as soon as my Certificate arrives (see bottom of msg for Visa Application deadline so far and hoping I will have my visa back by the 16th (this week) OR

2. Do I travel with my current student visa and apply for the PSW upon return. The dilemma with this scenario is that I return within the last 3 months of my visa and I know some people has had problems upon returning.

So I took the risk of applying for my visa on the 10th of Nov and it has been going quick so far. But the problem is that I have not received any news yet and I am flying to SA on Saturday 17th of December.

So I was thinking and PRAYING that even if I only get my passport and approval back this week to fly to SA with only that. And then upon return my friend who will be signing for the Biometric card can wait at the airport on the 2nd of January. I can will have the letter and I can just tell them someone is on the other side with my visa. (I dont want them to send it to me to SA because of the holidays).

What are your intake on this scenario??

Also, do they keep my previous Biometric card (Student visa) or to that send it to me...

I am stressing like mad because I really want to go home and be able to come back to the UK. Should I call them???

Application received by UKBA: 11/11/11
Acknowledgment letter received: 17/11/11 dated 14/11/11
Biometrics Invitation Letter received: 26/11/11
Biometrics done at Camden Town PO: 28/11/11

My timeline is the same as yours. Today I received my BRP card and I still waiting for my passport. So I think you should receive your documents within next few days.

Thanks, I really do hope so as I am going home for the Xmas holidays!!!!!

Ceobot, have you received your Passport and Documents yet? I've received my Biometric card today but not my passport as yet!
