Setting up evisa - non biometric passport

Post by SWVinUK2022 » Wed Aug 07, 2024 7:06 pm

Hi all,

I would like to setup my evisa account and I saw on this sub that passport was recommended to be used as the identity document while creating the account. The online videos show using the app we need to scan the identity document for verification.

I have a passport from a country that doesn't have the biometric chip in it. Any idea if I can use such a passport or do I need to use my BRP as the identity document while creating the account?

Thanks

It appears a machine readable or chipped passport is required, where not available use your BRP.
You may try your passport first to see.

Thanks for the comment. Mine is machine readable, but doesn't have the chip. Guess I will use the BRP to verify ID and then add the passport as additional document.
