Settlement Advise please.

Post by keemlaw » Sun Nov 17, 2019 12:32 am

I have a British passport and my wife holds a permanent resident card in Ireland. I am trying to Apply for the EU settlement for her and we are both here in Ireland. Can anyone help with guide, advise on what to do or how to go about it.

Many Thanks.

Assuming you have been exercising treaty rights (have been working, studying or self-sufficient) in Ireland and Ireland has been your main residence, then your wife qualifies for Surinder Singh Pre-Settled Status. All info here: https://www.gov.uk/settled-status-eu-ci ... ss-citizen

Look under the section If your family member is a British citizen (‘Surinder Singh’ applications). I'll be a paper application.
You cannot use the online service to apply if this is how you qualify for the scheme.

You need to call the EU Settlement Resolution Centre to find out how to apply. You’ll be asked a few questions over the phone before you’re sent the application form.
