Settlement via DLR/RDL

Post by thechaser2015 » Wed Nov 04, 2015 12:52 am

Hi all, just want to find out if anyone can assist. I was granted 6months discretionary leave to remain in 2010 after seeking asylum. I then renewed before expiration, extension for further leave refused and appealed and won hearing in 2013. Received another 6months but this time it was restricted leave to remain due to policy changes etc  this is due to expire in feb 2016. Now my question is, can i apply for settlement next year because when i renew in feb 2016 it would have been 6yrs on discretionary leave as i've been told that after being legal for 6yrs you can apply for settlement. is that right? Thanks.

I thought that may be the case for the 6 months DLR.

You may have to wait for a period of 10 years to qualify for settlement.

You do not fall within the restricted policy.
