Settlement Visa!! Post date issue

Hello All,
I am going to apply for settlement visa through my wife who is a british citizen. I have a few concerns which i want to voice over here.

First, Can i get my visa posted dated for 2 months ( I know its allowed for 3 months).

Second, Is it true that upon a visa being issued one is required to travel within 28 days to UK otherwise they wont be allowed entry.

Third, Is it necessary to fly to UK after visa has been issued from the same country where settlement visa was granted or i can fly to Uk from Any other country as long as i have the visa.

I would appreciate any sort of guidance regarding these questions.

Using your numbering :-

1. Yes, you can request a deferred start date of up to three months
2. No, but it would be advisable to enter the UK within 28 days of the start date printed on the visa, otherwise you will encounter problems getting ILR in two year's time
3. this is simply not an issue. You can fly into the UK from wherever, or indeed catch the train or ship!
