Good afternoon,
My wife (a Thai national) was rejected her settlement visa which we applied for on the 15th of march 2010. We found out last week that her visa has been reject for what i think are very petty reason. They are claiming that i was not in Thailand when we say we first meet July 2007 although immigration stamps can be clearly seen in my passport. I do have the rejection letter to hand if any body would like to vie win detail.
I have read on other posts that we can appeal which we intend to do, bit also some people talk about a review.
For this I have sent a fax to the embassy in the Bangkok asking them to review or case and included a copy of my passport page that clearly shows the stamps. Has this worked for anybody in the past and how long does it normally take for a response?
As for the appeal we are using an agency to go over the case and try to give us the best chance, he says that the appeal should be dealt with in Bangkok and overturned there, so can take up to 16 weeks. Does this sound correct and has anybody any idea about the time it normally takes for appeals overturned this way?
What i am hoping to try and find out is ways that i can get the embassy to look our case and soon as possible. As i feel that the embassy have made the mistake not ourselves so waiting 9 months does seem harsh.
I am considering writing to my MP and embassy but will this have any effect? Because the communication back from the embassy is shocking they never answer emails and calls. So if anybody has any contacts and the UK embassy in Bangkok or ideas it would be greatly welcomed.
Thank you for you help.
Regards
