settlement visa

Post by sammybh » Mon Apr 19, 2010 5:43 pm

Hi, ive just read the following on your website..

"If you have been together for four years or more outside the UK and you have passed the Life in the UK test, you are eligible for indefinite leave to remain (permanent residence) in the UK without having to live in the UK for two years."

Does this mean we have to show we have lived together for over 4 years or that we've been a couple for 4 years?

My partner and I have been together since oct 2004 and the majority of the time ive been with him over in Turkey where he's from, having extended holidays for months on end. He's been to england once on a 6 months visit visa that we got granted first time. He went back to turkey in march 2010 and now we're looking to get married in Turkey and settle in the UK but not sure which visa to go for. If the above statement applies to us, which application form will we need and what supporting documents will give us the best chance of success?

Thanks in advanced for your reply

Having extended holidays is not the same as cohabitation.

Yep, you have to have lived together, with proof so this visa does not apply to you.
