Shengen visa in a day can in be done????

My brother in law has been granted a tourist visa to the uk for six months , he lives in India!! while he was here i was hoping to take him to spain for a long weekend ! he will be in UK by the 31st of july and we were hoping to go to spain on 5th August is there any way he can get a schengen visa in a day in either India or in the UK or is it a lengthy process?? any help appreciated!

First of all, he cannot be issued a Schengen Visa in the UK, because he is not a UK resident (on a long term residency visa, ILR or Citizen). He has to get the visa from India.

So if you plan to travel in the Schengen area, make sure he gets his visa before he leaves India. Tell your brother-in-law to apply to the Spanish Embassy/Consulate in India. Usually it takes them 5-7 working days to issue a tourist visa if you submit all the necessary document and match all the relevant criteria.
