Should I worry?

Post by sk2012 » Fri Jun 03, 2011 6:31 pm

I'm new to these boards and hoping to get some info please.

I will be visiting Ireland this fall for 2 weeks, but am concerned about getting through customs. I had an overstay of 6 months in the UK and wonder if the Republic Of Ireland will care about this at all?

I will have my return ticket, proof of funds, and info regarding my ties to home as well as my hotel reservation info, etc etc.

Do Ireland and the UK share info like this? I was not banned, left UK on my own and got no stamp in my passport showing that I overstayed. I simply went home.......late...but I did go home.

Please don't flame be for being an overstayer....I know it is frowned upon and my circumstances were extremely difficult.

Any advice or input would be great. Thanks!

What's your nationality? Do you require a visa to visit Ireland? If so, do you currently possess a valid Irish entry visa? If you do not require visa to visit Ireland then you may not have a problem barring any other criminal record in the UK.

You'll be fine. Even the UK won't know that you overstayed, let alone would Ireland know.
I am no longer posting publicly on this website - PM me if needed.
