You dont need a Licence to work as a Civil Engineer in the UK. Howevever dependind on your experience and educational bakground, it would be beneficial if you became a Technician, Incorporated or Chartered Member of the Insttution of Civil Engineers. (Assuming you want to join the Consultancy Industry)

In order to gain employment easily and command high salaries, it would be beneficial if you registered with the Engineering Council (UK) as a Techician, Incorporated or Chartered Engineer.

You will be gald to know that I am a Chartered Civil Engineer and my fellow moderator Kayalami is a Chartered Chemical Engineer

Good Luck
