Singapore PR

Hi. Is there any other way I can apply for Singapore PR status apart from taking up employment and then applying?

Yes, of course you can. Although, most foreigners become Singapore permanent residents after working in the country for 6 months to 2 years, there are other paths leading you to Singapore PR status. Here are a list of PR Schemes, under which you can apply for Singapore PR status.
1. Permanent Residence Scheme 1 - Working Professionals
Known as Professionals/Technical Personnel & Skilled Worker scheme (or simply PTS scheme), this scheme is for foreign professionals who are working in Singapore at the time of applying for Singapore permanent residence.
2. Permanent Residence Scheme 2 - Investor Scheme
Under this scheme, you may apply for PR for yourself and immediate family by starting a business or investing in Singapore.
3. Permanent Residence Scheme 3 - Foreign Artistic Talent
If you have a talent for arts, photography, dance, music, theatre, literature and film, you can apply for Singapore permanent residence through Foreign Artistics Talent scheme.
4. Permanent Residence Scheme 4 - Landed Permanent Residence (LPR)
The LPR Scheme is open to individuals who have either top notch education or professional background.

Additionally, marriage to a Singapore citizen conveys, in itself, no right of residence in Singapore nor a route to permanent residence.
