Skilled Worker Dependent Visa Time spent outside UK

Post by mithuhere » Sun Sep 22, 2024 11:51 pm

I currently hold a Skilled Worker Dependent Visa, issued on April 24. I entered the UK in April but had to depart on May 18 to care for my ailing mother. Unfortunately, I won't be able to return to the UK until January or February 25, exceeding the six-month absence period.

I have the following questions regarding my situation:

1. Will my visa be automatically cancelled due to the extended absence?

2. Is it possible to request an extension or reinstatement of my visa, citing family emergency or compassionate reasons?

3. If my visa is cancelled, can I apply for a new one immediately?

4. Would a visa cancellation have any adverse implications for future visa applications?

Thank you in advance for your guidance and assistance.
