Skilled worker VISA for a MSc student

Hi, I am an international MSc student completed my course in Jan'22 and have secured a job offer from a employer who is willing to sponsor me skilled worker VISA. What would be the correct time to apply or start my new VISA application?
I have this query because my University website says, a student must only apply for VISA once they have received an email from University and one copy sent to UKVI stating the student is eligible for Graduate route VISA. Also since it specifies graduate route VISA, does this condition apply for skilled worker VISA?
