ACCA’s BSc (hons) from Oxford Brookes University as English language requirement

Post by Citrominatore » Wed Mar 02, 2022 10:37 pm

Hi guys,

I recently accepted a job offer from UK and soon will apply for UK skilled worker visa once I get my COS.

My question here is, do I need to sit for IELTS exam or the Bachelor’s degree from Oxford Brookes University fulfils the English language requirement of that skilled worker visa.

On the eligibility criteria it clearly says you fulfil the requirement if you have UK’s bachelor’s degree but I am confused due to the type of this degree.

I got that degree by competing certain ACCA exams and submitting a research report. So, I would say the degree is awarded based on distant learning. However, I don’t see anything different on the degree that says something like distant learning program.

Has anyone gone through the similar process or could help me with that?

Many thanks

The exact wording in Immigration Rules is
EL 5.2. The requirements are that the applicant has:
(a) a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or doctorate awarded in the UK
So I think it is sufficient.
