Slight mismatch in the under 28 evidence

Post by rkc » Sun May 21, 2006 12:27 pm

Hi moderaters and other members,

For the under 28 evidence, I intend to submit notarised copy of my passport personal details page. My name on the passport is spelt in the order LASTNAME FIRSTNAME FATHERSNAME. The problem here is that my FATHERSNAME on the passport here is spelt as XXXXZZZ whereas on all the other documents for e.g company experience letters, degree certificates etc. it is only spelt as XXXX. XXXXZZZ is the complete name, but it has always been used as XXXX in practice. This mismatch is due to historical reasons.
I have not yet faced any problem because of this slight mismatch as my passport has already been stamped earlier with european visa without any trouble. HSMP seems to be very strict on the face of it though.
Should this be a problem?

Thanks.

Guys, really appreciate to get any feedback on my situation- any one else been through similar situation?
Alternatively, is it permissible to submit original School Leaving Certificate as this also has my date of birth?

Unless this exact situation has come up before I don't think you're going to get an authoritative answer.

The best thing you can do is email the HSMP team (hsmp.workpermits@ind.homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk) and see what they say.
